I’ve found my sparkle. What do I mean by that? My sparkle is the inner happiness residing within me from knowing what my purpose is on this earth and pursuing it with a fiery fervor.
Not everyone finds their sparkle. Some people spend years trying to find it, searching for that one thing that will help them feel as if they’ve found their destiny. For some strange reason, our destiny and purpose is a narrow road and almost hides itself from us. It evades us, as if it’s scared we’ll come upon its path and trample it underfoot.
Or perhaps, it’s our heart that causes us to shy away from our purpose. Sometimes, when we realize what it is that we must do in life, we run. Pursuing a music career, an acting career, a writing career, a career in the medical field- these are big dreams and can scare us away the moment we realize they’re our dreams. Who wants to choose a path that’s long and arduous and filled with rejection when we could choose the easy route so many others seem happy to be traveling?
The thing is, that “easy” route may be the other person’s dream. They have a right to be on that path. But we have to ask ourselves, do we? Is that really what we want, or are we just running from our purpose? Are we running from the road paved for us?
Once you find your sparkle, the purpose of your life, hold on to it. Don’t shelve it and let it get dusty, sitting for years, discarded and destroyed. Place it on a pedestal and let it guide you to your destiny. Your life will only be as good as you make it. And let me just tell you, it won’t be that good if you run from your God-given purpose into the arms of a dream not meant for you. You’ll live your life with regrets.
My dream, my purpose, my destiny is to be a writer and to share my work with anyone and everyone who cares. Whether I get published or not, whether I gain a following of fans doesn’t really matter as long as I’m consistently running on the path paved for me. As long as I’m pursuing my purpose, I know I’m doing the right thing and I’m happier for it.
If it’s something you love, than get over the fact that you can’t catch a break while pursuing it. Just pursue it because it’s what you need to be doing and it’s what you love to do. If you truly love it, than it doesn’t matter how much rejection you receive. At the end of the day, it’s your sparkle and it makes you shine.
Find your sparkle and let it brighten your life. 🌟
