I’m an Instagrammar now!

So I did it… I took the plunge and immersed myself in the shallow pool of Instagram.

For years, I said I would never get an Instagram page. I hated hashtags. Didn’t know what their purpose was for and thought they were so silly.

But now that I’ve finally stepped up in the world and graduated from a dumb phone to an iPhone, I figured why not. It’s an app that’ll be right at my fingertips. Plus the hashtags are actually truly helpful.

Why am I going on about this? Well, if you do your research and you’re pursuing a career as an author, it is highly important to be in social media.

I want to spread my following, not just through here, but also other sites where even more people can feel my passion.

An important step to marketing is making sure you have an established following that knows what you’re about, where you’re going, and wants to be apart of it with you. I want to build my fan base and have connections that will get me places. It’s not about the fame for me. But I want to make it in life, and this is one way I’m going to be able to do that.

Please feel free to follow me on Instagram for more intimate posts where you’ll really get to know me.  Look for am_king7 and follow my journey πŸ™‚

  1. I have a personal instagram but don’t use it much. My social media bases currently are Tumblr, Facebook(created an author page), and Twitter. I don’t want to stretch myself too far, since it’s hard enough just to find time to write heh.

    • I wouldn’t normally have chosen Instagram, but seeing as it’s pretty much at the top of the list when it comes to social media sites, I had to do it.

But you’re definitely right about stretching yourself too far. I’m not going to do more than 3 social media sites.

  2. I have an instragram too! but im not that good at the hashtag game but it is a great way to expand your network. @carohrodri and ill check yours out too (=

    • I was confused about hashtags in the beginning, so I looked it up lol It’s practically the same same thing as using tags for a blog. I’ll look for you πŸ™‚

  3. I’ll have to find yours! Instagram is really popular with the younger generations, I have a younger cousin (19) who was like: ‘all I use now is instagram, how many followers do you have millie? I have about 600’
    I was like um yeah…
Most of my friends aren’t big instagramers, we grew up with facebook instead!

    • I have Facebook and Instagram. But Facebook is filled with all my school friends and family, so I feel like they don’t care as much about my writing life lol
